The School for Business and Regional Development (SBARD) offers two scholarships scheme, which provide financial support for full-time students on all our MSc’s, MBA’s and MA programmes in the Banking and Finance fields (find out more about our postgraduate programmes):
The number of Gold and Silver Scholarships awards vary from year to year, but normally a small number of Gold Scholarships and a larger number of Silver Scholarships are available. All students are entitled to apply for both types of Scholarship. We do not consider country of origin when determining the recipients of Scholarship awards.
To be eligible to apply for a Scholarship, you must be applying for (or have already been offered) a place on one of our taught postgraduate (MSc/MA/MBA) degree programmes included in this scholarships scheme.
There is no application form for scholarships. Candidates applying for masters courses who wish to be considered for the awards should include a letter (together with the standard University postgraduate course application form) entitled ‘Scholarship Applications Gold / Silver’ listing their main academic and personal achievements together with a short essay (500 words max.) on why they have chosen to study at Bangor. (Candidates already holding a postgraduate offer from the School need only send the ‘Scholarships Applications Gold / Silver’ letter and must also note their offer details.)
The scholarships will be awarded on the strengths of applications received. Whilst academic achievement is a key criteria a broad view of each candidate’s academic, work experiences and life achievements will be considered.
Applications for scholarships should be sent to the following address:
