The University of Manchester and Chinese Scholarship Council (CSC) award up to ten postgraduate scholarships annually to nationals of PR China who intend to study a PhD at the University of Manchester. The Scholarship covers tuition fees and an annual maintenance grant for a period of up to three years subject to satisfactory academic progress

The CSC specifies six priority areas for the scholarships: Telecommunication and Information Technology, Life Science and Public Health, Material Science and New material, Energy Sources and Environmen, Engineering Science,Applied Social Sciences and WTO-related areas.

The Faculty of Medical and Human Science (University of Manchester) is currently inviting application for Chinese Scholarships Council (CSC) Postgraduate Awards for 2008-2009 academic years. It is expected that the vast majority of applications considered by the Faculty will relate to the ‘Life Science and Public Health‘ area.

All candidates for the Chinese Scholarships will be automatically considered for the Overseas Research Scholarships (ORS) and Dorothy Hodgkin (DHPA) awards so please do not submit separate applications for each competition.
