USA. Sandia National Laboratories.
The Reacting Flow Department at Sandia’s Combustion Research Facility (CRF) is looking for a qualified postdoctoral researcher to join our world-class research team in the development and application of laser-based imaging diagnostics for studying fundamental problems in combustion science.
The research will focus on providing new insights into interactions between transport processes and combustion chemistry. The successful candidate will work as part of a research team, will conduct independent research under the mentorship of technical staff at the CRF, and will be expected to publish results in the open literature.
This position requires a Ph.D. in engineering or a physical science, as well as experimental research experience in laser-based flow diagnostics. Candidates should have a demonstrated record of original contributions to the development and application of laser diagnostics for reacting or nonreacting flows.
A background combining elements of imaging diagnostics, fluid mechanics and combustion, molecular spectroscopy, and energy transfer is also desirable. We request applications from innovative individuals interested in working in a dynamic environment with leading researchers in the areas of laser-based diagnostics and reacting flows. Strong verbal- and written-communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary research team are also required.
