Ireland. The university invites application for full-time Professorships in Quantitative Finance within the School of Business. Interested candidates should possess an appropriate combination, relevant to the field of Mathematical Finance. They should hold a PhD from a research-intensive University.

Candidates should also have a distinguished record of research as evidenced by publications in internationally refereed journals, significant teaching experience at University level, including the supervision to completion of doctoral students. A track record of generating research income and a proven academic leadership record are also required.

Successful candidates will be a member of the School of Business. S/he will also be a member of the Academic Council of the University.

The Professor of Quantitative Finance will contribute to the School’s objectives by engaging in scholarly activity through research, publications, and teaching. More particularly the Professor will be expected to:

  • Assume an academic leadership role in the development of the discipline, and in particular provide research leadership and mentoring to colleagues in the Subject Group, who reflect a variety of perspectives within the discipline
  • Work with the Subject Head to ensure the development and maintenance of a research ethos based on peer reviewed publication
  • Contribute to teaching and the development of academic programmes
  • Liaising with the financial services industry
  • Participate actively in the structured doctoral programme and the supervision of research students
