UK. Currently 6 PhD studentships are available within the Faculty of Business, Environment and Society. These are 3 years full time studenthships within the areas: Law, Geography, Health Design and Technology, Marketing and International Business of Sport.

Applicants are expected to have a good Masters degree (average marks of 60% +) in a relevant subject from a recognised academic institution. An IELTS score of 7 or above is required for those who do not have English as a first language. As part of the studentship successful applicants will be expected to undertake some teaching duties and support activities and to contribute to research activities within the Faculty.

Available studentships are as follows:

  • 1 studentship in criminal justice or human rights
  • 1 studentship in any area of law
  • 1 studentship to study service marketing
  • 1 studentship to study the organisational, structural and cultural aspects which relate to the success of the HDTI as an example of an Applied Research Institute
  • 1 studentship to study the challenges and policy implications of ‘hosting’ refugee families in rural communities on the south bank of the Republic of The Gambia
  • 1 studentship to study corruption in professional sport

Studentships will commence in September 2008 and last for a three year period at the end of which it is expected that the PhD will have been completed. The studentships provides a maintenance grant of £12,500 per annum plus fees (at the home/EU rate) for three years.
