UK. Three years PhD Scholarships are available within Global Centre for Mega Projects in Transport and Development. A VREF Centre of Excellence in Future Urban Transport Bartlett School of Planning, Bartlett Faculty of The Built Environment, University College London

The Bartlett School of Planning (BSP) is a research-led planning school with an international reputation offering innovative planning and built environment teaching and research programmes. BSP has recently been awarded a five year grant by the Volvo Research and Educational Foundations (VREF) to establish an international centre of excellence to undertake comparative research in decision-making in the planning, appraisal and evaluation of mega urban transport projects and their impacts.

The research programme will be undertaken in collaboration with nine other university partners in the developed world in Europe, Australasia and North America. The Centre – The Global Centre for Mega Projects in Transport and Development (The OMEGA Centre) – will be under the direction of Professor Harry T. Dimitriou.The research programme will be formally launched on 1st October 2006.
