Three years scholarship for a PhD student at the Department of Management, Economics, and Industrial Engineering of Politecnico di Milano related to studies in the economics and financing of high-tech start-ups and connected policy measures. The scholarship is part of a research program funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research and the European Commission through the Network of Excellence PRIME.

The research program is directed by professor Massimo G. Colombo. The successful candidate must have a Master degree in a relevant social science or technical discipline (at least five year-university education). He/she must have strong interests in applied research in economics, management and/or finance. A quantitative background is appreciated. The Department offers opportunities to attend conferences,to meet and interact with international researchers, and to present preliminary work in high-quality discussion workshops.

The scholarships includes a mandatory period (minimum 6 months) to be spent in a foreign academic institution. It is reserved to highly-qualified English speaking candidates (Italian speaking is not mandatory). The net amount of the scholarship is 826 EURO per month (1.212 EURO per month in the semester spent abroad). The amount of the scholarship can be increased (about +50%) through participation in the teaching activities at undergraduate, master and MBA/Executive level of the Department and in contract research activities.
