ESRC Studentships Open Competition in Goverment Study, University of Strathclyde

UK. Open for application ESRC 1+3 / +3 Studentship Open Competition. The studentships are tenable in area of the Department of Goverment, Faculty of Law, Arts and Social Sciences. The studentships will cover standard UK/ EU/ Overseas fees plus additional annual maintenance grant of £12,940.

The Department is able to provide PhD supervision in any of the following broad areas:

• Governance: institutions, legitimacy and representation
• Public policy: multi-levels
• Political behaviour: elections, parties and public opinion

Applications should consist of a research proposal of around 2 A4 pages, a full curriculum vitae, and the names and addresses (including email) of two academic referees.

Application Deadline: 4 april 2008.The Department can submit one candidate for the ESRC Open Competition. Applicants will be informed by 18 April whether they have been selected for the competition. Closing date for receipt of ESRC applications is 1 May. Successful candidates will be informed in August.

The studentships are tenable from September 2008 for three years subject to satisfactory progress.
